Description
Semperfli Kapok Dubbing is the ultimate material for your dry flies as it is extremely fluid - it's actually known as fly life jackets! Kapok is a natural hollow fiber that when used as dubbing gives your fly extra buoyancy.
Kapok (Ceiba pentandra) is a natural fiber that has been available for many years and grows throughout the tropics where it is cultivated. It is a moisture-resistant, quick-drying, resilient and flowing fiber that weighs only one-eighth as much as cotton. Kapok has historically been used in life jackets and lifeboats and supports up to 30 times its own weight in water.
Semperfli's Kapok dubbing is available in a range of very natural color shades and has been defined as the best dry fly dubbing on the market.
Individual Kapok Dubbing fibers average 1.8cm in length, with a diameter of 30 to 36 microns, making it thinner than even the thinnest superfine dubbing, actually half the thickness of a normal superfine dubbing.
